Transportation of chemical liquid cargo in flexitanks

Transportation of chemical liquid cargo in flexitanks

In 2019, our company revolutionized the flexi-industry by agreeing the local technical conditions (LTC) that allow Evropac to transport any nonhazardous liquid cargoes in Evropac flexitanks throughout the entire Russian Railways network.

Evropac company ships up to 30 thousand tons of liquid cargo in flexitanks per month. This is about a thousand containers. The annual growth in the volume of our shipments in flexitanks is 40-50 percent.

LOWER TRANSPORTATION COSTS • HIGHER DELIVERY SPEED • WIDER GEOGRAPHY OF DELIVERY • HIGHER SAFETY OF CARGO • DOOR TO DOOR DELIVERY

THE ECONOMIC BENEFIT IN THE TRANSPORTATION OF LIQUID CARGOES IN FLEXITANKS FROM THE PRODUCTION PLANT TO THE MAIN PORTS CAN BE 40 $ PER TON!

Evropac is the first Russian company to use flexitank technology to transport liquid cargoes in containers.Transportation in Evropacflexitanks meets the various needs of enterprises.

CASE 1
Tatneft oils are very sensitive to impurities.Unduetransfer is not allowed. If the tanks are not enough washed or if foreign substance has got into them, the quality of oil deteriorates. Using flexitanks, Tatneft achieves better supplies.

CASE 2
Rosneft produces transformer oil at only one plant in Angarsk, which is logistically very inconvenient for transportation in tanks because distances are too long. This oil is also sensitive to impurities. It is possible only to use flexitanks to bring it from there without refilling. Herewith the manufacturer gets cheaper logistics: transportation from Angarsk to Vladivostok or to Singapore in tanks will cost twice as much. Containers already equipped with flexitanks are delivered to oil refineries. They are loaded with liquid there, transported by railwithin Russia or to other countries through ports. Flexitank, as a sealed single-use package, is best suited for the transportation of this type of product.

CASE 3
Cooperation with Lukoil began in 2010 with 300 tons per month. There was a crisis: many customers stopped buying oil products in large tankerloads. Then Lukoil commenced deliveries in small shipments in flexitanks, which allowed not only to satisfy the needs of existing customers, but also to open new markets. Deliveries are carried out to 32 countries of the world. This would be impossible without flexitanks.

CASE 4
Subsidiary of Lukoil produces base oils in Turkey. It is cheaper to supply raw materials to Turkey in tankers than in flexitanks, but the continuity of production necessitates the same small shipmentsthat are impossible to deliver in tankers, but possible in flexitanks.

CASE 5
Delivery to Singapore or the United Arab Emirates is cheaper in flexitanks than in tankers. In these countries, Lukoil has production of marine oils. Deliveries in flexitanks provide them with no tank and reserve tank costs; the cargo goes straight to the plant system.

In addition to economic benefit, shipments in flexitanks provide oil and chemical companies with the delivery of clean product in small shipments by sea.

There is no loss of product volumes during transfers. The entire effective volume of the container is used, more cargo is loaded. There is no need to return empty rolling stock. There is no need to use complex washing tank technology.
